St. James' Sunday School,

which we call:

Adventures in Faith

Adventures In Faith is based on the Workshop Rotation Model , which is teaching major Bible stories and concepts through kid-friendly multimedia workshops, and rotating classes through the workshops every week. The same theme is taught in each workshop for four weeks. The model's philosophy recognizes that kids not only love repetition, but they need it to develop a lasting memory and understanding of the content. (This makes life easier on the teachers, too. They can develop one lesson a month, and just refine it to the different age group that they are teaching.)

The children are divided up into two groups:

Pre-school (at least 3 years old), and

Kindergarten through fifth grade.

The preschool class stays with the same teacher all year. The remaining four groups of older children rotate to a different workshop each week. A new theme is introduced every four weeks. Since the congregation has allowed us to use the parsonage solely for Adventures In Faith, we are working hard to fix it up to meet our needs. Please stop in and see us - we'd love to show you what we're doing!

We need teachers!

Please contact any member of the Christian Education committee if you'd like to teach. Your commitment would be for only for one "rotation", which is a four-week period. (Of course, we'd love to have you stay longer!)
